The idea<\/h2>\n

From a simple conversation with a daughter, to a widely used software solution<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

A couple of years ago, one of our Bumbal initiators was talking with one of his daughters. As he talked about his work in the logistics sector, it struck her that there were so many trucks and vans on the road. She asked him \u2013 as children do: \u201cWhy are so many trucks driving around? And where are they all going?\u201d She received a logical answer: They all carried different things, such as furniture, bikes, TV sets and toys. All these things came from all sorts of places and had to go to all sorts of shops, companies and people. Our Bumbal initiator also told her that almost half of these trucks were driving around empty. \u201cEmpty?\u201d, she said astonished, \u201cBut why are so many driving empty?\u201d That\u2019s when it hit him. Strangely enough, there is no logical answer to that question. What a waste. Even today, this is one of the biggest problems faced in logistics. There has to be another way!<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

This cannot be reconciled with the enormous challenge we are faced with in the field of climate change. In our experience, there are many different transport \u2013 and ride planning software available. But more often than not, this software is complicated and rather expensive. Within a couple of test flights, they decide on the optimum (shortest) route and, upon their return, share this information with the whole colony. Because of their smart execution, they spare themselves from flying enormous distances, saving much time and energy.
